This wonderful hill in Edinburgh may look beautiful, but today it provided a brutal challenge, mass start racing complete with micro orienteering section.

I had a good wee tussle throughout the course with various people, but didn’t quite have the muscle (or the mind for that matter) to grab a second top ten result for the weekend.

There’s not a lot better after a spot of exercise than a monster burrito from Illegal Jacks in Edinburgh. With a side of delicious mini Haggis quesadillas and washed down with some Brew Dog, you can’t ask for much more to kick off a Saturday night.

Arriving in Edinburgh always feels like returning home, and after almost 6 years away I still get excited as the train rolls through the eastern outskirts towards Waverley.

I can’t think of many places where getting off a train visitors are rewarded with as magnificent a sight, with the castle looming above to the west, or Carlton hill to the east. Shame about those bloody trams eh.
